Description

What is this

A Phillips recess, shown cut into a plain cylinder. The module behind it is a cutting tool: it takes a shape and removes the cross from it.

What you use it for

Subtract it from a bolt head, a knob or a thumbscrew of your own and a real driver will fit. The cylinder here is just something to cut into, so you can see the shape and check the size.

Design notes

This is the same recess the countersunk bolt in this collection uses, so anything cut with it takes the same driver as that bolt.

Because the module removes rather than adds, calling it with nothing to cut gives you nothing at all. That is worth knowing before you import it.

Parameters

width is measured across the tip and decides which driver fits. blank only sets the test cylinder. Leave thickness at zero unless the recess has to be looser than standard.
