Parameters
from sourceDescription
What is this
The hex nut that goes with the metric bolt: standard across flats, standard thickness, internal thread cut to the metric pitch for its diameter.
What you use it for
The other half of a printed fastener. Also useful as a captive nut, dropped into a hexagonal pocket in a larger print so it cannot turn.
Design notes
Leave thickness at zero and the standard height for that diameter is used. The internal thread carries the same tolerance as the bolt, so a pair printed on the same machine at the same setting will thread together.
Parameters
diameter is the nominal metric size and has to match the bolt. thickness overrides the standard height, which is worth doing when the nut has to sit in a shallow pocket.

Parameter table
Parsed from the Customizer annotations in main.scad| Name | Default | Range | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| diameter | 8 | 3 to 20 step 1 | mm | Nominal metric diameter, so 8 is an M8. |
| thickness | 0 | 0 to 20 step 1 | mm | Height of the nut. Zero takes the standard for the diameter. |
| tolerance | 0.4 | 0 to 1 step 0.05 | mm | Taken off the thread to allow for printing. |
