The bar is split into three segments with dowel joints: at the defaults each segment is 167 x 100 x 100 mm, within an A1 Mini.

Description

What is this

A modern wall mounted light bar for above a bathroom mirror, 500 x 100 x 100 mm by default. Three GU10 spots point straight down through openings in a recessed bottom plate. The front fascia runs 15 mm past that plate, so from the front you see a clean bar and no lamps: the light washes down over the mirror. The top front edge and all four vertical corner edges are rounded, front and back alike, blending through spherical top corners; the rounding starts right at the wall so the silhouette is never square. The bottom edge is sharp and the bar meets the wall on a flat strip. The bottom opening follows the outer outline at a constant one wall offset, so the visible rim is uniform all round. The GU10 holder cups are the ones from mick/lamp-fittings, built into the body. The bar is split into three segments with dowel joints: at the defaults each segment is 167 x 100 x 100 mm, within an A1 Mini.

What you use it for

Print all segments, glue them on 4 mm dowels or filament pins, screw a store bought GU10 socket on top of each cup from inside, wire the sockets in parallel and hang the bar on two screws through the keyhole slots in the back. The lamp twists in from below and sits flush with the bottom plate. Use LED GU10 lamps only, print in PETG or ASA for a bathroom, keep the fixture out of the shower zones and have the mains connection checked if you are not certain of it.

Design notes

The shell is a single convex hull: four vertical corner cylinders, four spherical top corners and a horizontal cylinder along the top front edge. The back corners use the same radius as the front, so the bar touches the wall on a flat central strip and curves away at the ends, and the top back edge picks up the corner radius automatically. The cavity is the same hull inset by one wall and the bottom opening is the plan outline offset inward by one wall with matching corner radii, which keeps the rim thickness constant everywhere. The keyhole slots and cable entry sit below the top back rounding so they stay on the flat part of the back at any radius. Each cup is a tube with a top cap that has the pin pass-through and two fixing holes for the socket, the same construction as the parent model. Join blocks carry three dowels per cut. part = segment exports one segment on its back for printing; some support is needed inside. Choose spots and segments so the cuts miss the cups: three and three is safe.

Parameters

total_width, height and depth size the bar and lip sets how far the fascia drops past the lamp faces. r_top rounds the top front edge, r_side rounds all four vertical edges and the top corners; the bottom edge is always sharp. spots and segments set the count of lights and print sections, segment_index picks which section part = segment shows. wall and plate_t shape the shell, gu10_hole_span matches the socket, cutaway opens the display view and color_body sets the display colour.
